I will be looking at a 1954 Dodge Power Wagon about an hours drive from me.I located it on CraigsList, sorry no pictures, and wondering has anyone used(retrofited plows to truck) military equipment to plow with and what sort of issues did you run into.He has a plow on it now but it is homemade do not have any other details.H estates the plow raises lowers but there is no angling system on it.He has had the truck since 1974,he is a docter. He plowed his lake property he states that he only got it stuck once and a Bulldozer had to get it out.He states that it will pretty much plow through anything.Needs front windshield and break seals too.Any thoughts about this type of purchse.Dave

I would worry about reliability with something that old. And availability of parts. No doubt it will push anything in its way, they are beasts.

As long as you are good with a wrench and the price is right I wouldn't be afraid of it. JMO

There's plenty of parts dealers dealing in old Dodges, especially the M-37s. Take a look at: www.militaryvehiclesmagazine.com

You'll find parts dealers and trucks for sale to give you an idea of market values.

    Good luck.

the local VFD had a 56 for years. one of the members still has it and has restored it. It had a under hood meyer system on it. Parts for these things are readily available. Both in New old inventory and reproductions.

If it's a labor of love (cause you'll work on it more then a new one), it's a great choice for a high profile snow mover. Just remember Dodge won't warranty it if it dosen't have a plow prep:jester:
