We have been getting little pieces of metal stuck in cartridge valves. We drained and cleaned all before the start of the season. It makes me think something is failing and metal is being generated from it. Any ideas where? I am thinking the pump maybe going out. I have never had one go out. But they must. Ideas. Or is this typical if pump failure. Its a western unimount. Probably 20 years old.

western had an issue with chips about 2 years ago, did you happen to change a cyl or something new?

Like Randall said. Check your rams first.

I will do that. Its parked at a different location so I can't look right now but I appreciate the direction to check. I will look at the cylinders, but I haven't changed any.
