8 part isopropyl alcohol (as close to 100% as you can get) to 1 parts lanolin (both buy able at Walgreen and the internet)

    fyi

also it works great as a case lube (ammunition reloading)

Unfortunately, that isn't the formula, and your brew lacks the penetrating power of FF.
The alcohol will badly affect the Lanolin.

The original formula is (by volume) 3 Lanolin, 3 Mineral oil and 7 Mineral Spirits [paint thinner]
The formula was available on the MSDS before the current owners bought FF.

There is a superior formula that offers better flow in cold. FF does not offer that.

The constant price war for Lanolin goes on every day on ebay.

roughly you'll get just short of a gallon with a pound of lanolin.

So, do you use it ?

It was mentioned above how some are not happy with the product and I have heard others also with negetive comments. However it seems some like it.

Personally I would love to find a product that works at keeping corrosion at bay.
