Have you tried it yet? Is there a problem with it? Because I can't imagine a 3/4 ton not being able to handle a 8.5. An F250 is going to have plenty of suspension and drivetrain for that plow, plus with a long wheelbase truck youre not going to like the narrower plow as much. I would go with it, worst case is you may have to beef up your front end if its tired.

i did beef up the front end i was thinking that it might give me problems with pushing it with alot of snow this is the first year i had it bought it off of someone and i had a few people that said it might be to much for my truck so i'm not sure i guess i could always try it first just didn't want to look dumb if have problems with it doing a job

Your truck will handle that plow just fine.

I have a 2003 f250 with a 8 ' western ultra. I even put wings on so it runs around 10 ' wide. NO PROBLEM AT ALL

You shouldnt have much of a problem but if you do swap you only have to change the mold board, not the entire set up. Just remove the 3 polts at the pivot point and the 4 springs and your good to go.

I would say its too much plow for that old of a truck. Its 23 years old. The older trucks were really designed for 7.5 light blades. A older F-250 might have problems with the weight. The newer F-250 have the same front end capacity as the F-350s (when equiped with a plow package). The older ones didn't have this.

8.5 is a lot harder to push than 7.5. More snow on the blade added more weight which makes it harder to push. 7.5 pro plus is a heck of a lot lighter than the 8.5 pro plus.

BTW I have seen lopez's plow, its almost brand spanking new. He barely used it. PM him about it.
