I'm moving back to NY (live in NC) and my daily driver in NY will be a company vehicle. I'm looking for a southern truck to drive around come winter. I might also look into doing a little residential plowing since I will be laid off in the winter. I want it to at least be an option. I'm looking at a 2011 2500HD 6.0 crew cab long box tomorrow. It does have 160k miles, one owner southern truck. What should I be on the lookout for? I assume these trucks are pretty solid to 200k miles. Only driving it winters and weekends I will probably put 5k miles on it per year, a little more if I get into plowing. This allows me to get a higher mileage truck, but is 160k a little too much for one of these trucks? How are their front ends? will I be replacing a lot even if the truck was well taken care of?

A search on here will answer a lot of question but from my own personal experience Rocker panels, brake and other lines underneath and frame. Not so much an issue usually on most southern vehicles
Exhaust manifolds! . Mine at 200 k drivetrain is fine. Front end rides a lot better than other brands but ball joints, tie rods etc wear quicker.
Crew cab longbox I personally find way too long for plowing in any kind of tight areas. YOMV.
