labor codes? Are you allowed to give out I9 and SSNs?

    You probably all know which company asks you for this info.

    Someone told me that by us giving out our employees I-9s and SSNs and associated information, DL#s for who drives our trucks etc. is a violation of the labor code and can get fined in excess of $10,000 per occurrence. Why would companies ask you for this and could you just deny giving them the info?

    This past year, one company withheld our paychecks because they didnt have an "up to date" i-9 for an employee :/

    These are actual employees of yours? If the are sus I think they can ask for some info. Call your AG and ask them first because it could cost you.
