Just bought a 2500

    I just bought a 2002 chev ext cab 6 foot bed LT model with an 8 foot fisher..It's a 6.0 Gasser ...What are you guys averaging per gallon? also it didnt have a manual in it so maybe some info like grade of oil? Qts?..also how do u like your trucks..Thanks .Mike:bluebounc

    Congratulations, Mike. I've got an '05 Regular Cab 8' with the 6.0. I get 13mpg highway and 7mpg plowing.

    The manual says 5w-30. Six quarts.

    I think the 6.0 puts out good torque and power.

    I'm running the same truck in an 00. Love it, the 6.0 is a good motor, but thirsty. 13 is typical around town or on the highway (most seem to have 4.10 gears so you don't get much of a break on the highway mileage.

    I use 5w-30 Mobil 1, do the filter every 5000, oil every 10,000...more frequently if we have a harsh winter and the truck gets used hard.
