Finally got me a 3/4 ton! 2001 Silverado 2500HD LT Fully loaded, 8.1L/Allison with 3:73 non posi. This truck has some PEP! For weighing 9200lbs! Now I just have to find the right LED lightbar, 8.5' or bigger plow, and transfer over my computer and all from my other truck! Thumbs Up

Thats a nice truck! FYI, it doesnt weigh 9,200 lbs, that's what it's rated for.

Trucks GVWR is 9200lbs. Subtract the actual weight of the truck from 9200 and what you have leftover is the legal payload.

    Nice truck btw.

Yeah, 9200 is probably the GVWR. That thing probably weighs around 6700-7200 empty.

And as for posi......yes it does, to a point. All of those trucks have a G80 locking rear. Better than a limited slip, and the closest to true posi you will get.

    Nice truck!

No g80 code in the rpo list = no posi. And as for the gvwr, i thought thats how it worked but had been told different. Either way, peppy truck! Thanks for the kind words guys!

Stik208- likes its oil AND its gas! But I like it, so thats ok!

Thanks for the compliments guys! Trying to get a 911ep Millennium lightbar to put on it, these trucks with a low profile led lightbar look killer IMO. And i still godda transfer over my stuff from my old truck!

Nice truck. I have always wanted to drive an 496, just to see how it feels. A flowmaster will make that truck sound awesome

It DEFINITELY has get up and go. I pass people like I'm in a Ferrari..... Thumbs Up

I plan to just hack the big bus muffler out and weld in two welded mufflers (flowmaster or thrush welded, you know) and leave the rest stock. the tailpipe is two into one after the muffler, into a single 3.5", which I like. But for now its still original and still very clean ussmileyflag

Thank you for the kind words guys!:salute:

    P.S. Someone sell me a 911ep Millennium!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Flowmaster makes a 2 in 1 out mufflers. Get an 80 series suv or a 50 series suv muffler. A lot eaisier than running 2 mufflers.

And their gas  But, I used to love all the power. And the Allison transmission is great to. Mine had 4.11s in it though. So I bet yours will be easier on gas. I always wanted to put true duals on it. Mine had 2 cats on it then went into a Y pipe then into the muffler. Wouldn't have been to hard to start from the 2 cats and go back with duals. Something I wanted to do but never did. I bet it would sound awesome. Nice looking truck you got there!!!

Stay away from those, go with a Whelen Responder with Lin6s.
