ive got a 79 f 250 with a 300 6 and a 4 speed its been a project, since i got it i put a stake bed on it and several other things i was thinking about puttind a dually axle on it and then putting a blade on it would this work or even be worth it or would i be better off leaving the truck the way it is and getting a seperate truck for plowing?

If the truck is mechanically sound then why not. As far as the dually rear end goes, you may be able to just buy longer wheel studs and run the duallies on that rear end. many 3/4 ton and one ton rear ends through that era were the same.
