I pull my trailer with a 97 S10 Blazer with the 4.3 vortec V6. I want a truck instead. I have my eye on a 94 Silverado with 46,000 miles on it and it has the 6.5 diesel turbo engine. The guy said he would trade my Blazer and 1,000 dollars for the truck. My Blazer has 90,000 miles on it. This truck also comes with a topper! I need the Lawnsite opinion!!

Well I got my '97 4X4 3/4 ton HD loaded for $26K listed for $30K with out plow or bed liner.Your best bet would be to go online to the blue book and try to price it out.It will give you a better than guess price to make your desition on.

Tell us a little more about the truck you're looking at. Is it a 4x4? 3/4 ton? Ex cab? Auto? Mileage? and what are you going to use it for? It sounds good to me, but I'd look at it closely.

More info

The truck is not a 4x4. It is a 1 ton truck with 46,000 miles it is black and looks good on the inside. It comes with a topper wich could come in handy, but I will mostly keep the topper off for pulling the mowers.

I am looking at getting a 6.5 from around this time, and asked about it, the only thing that someone brought up, is that those first few years those engines had trouble with the diesel pump and fuel system, but they should have had the bugs worked out by now. I'd ask about the history of the engine, that's nice low mileage, and if the truck checks out, I'd say go for it. Sounds like a good work rig.
