Door switch stuck, frozen, bad?? (don't ask me where it's located!)
There used to be a way to bypass the interior lights with a switch on the dash somewhere, so you could leave the doors open with no pesky lights on...maybe this?

Good luck...

Oh yeah...check the owner's manual yet?

Boy your picking my brain since i havn't been working on Fords since 1998 anyway i think that your truck has a fuse for the dome/courtesy lights and one for map lights, anyway check all your fuses with a test light.

It might be a module(can't remember the name) that controls the courtesy lights, 4 wheel drive, wipers and something else. My cousins ford lost 4 wheel drive and has to engage it by popping the hood and manaully engaging it through a relay. The downside to this module is that it is on backorder(nationwide) and Ford says that it is not scheduled to be back on the shelves until 11/11/11. I hope that is not the case with yours, but just some experience that I have had.

dont think its that my four wheel drive and all that works also how the heck you get the headlight and parking light switch off so can take the part of the dash off around the insturment panal.
