Was wondering if all the newer model HDs are setup this way? What happened to the slolid front axle? Also, for those of you who have this front end, how does it hold up to plowing?

All GM trucks from 88-up have this type of front suspension. The solid front axle went by the wayside. If you crank up the torsion bar a few turns and throw on a set of Timbrens, you'll have no problems. They'll hold very well.

IFS is far more advanced than a SFA. They won't be going back to a SFA again, but they do hold weight better for plows.
