my salter auger motor might be on the way out, was working good full and empty for a few weeks. then loaded it up it work a few times but then the control flashed 10 and said OL. I jumped to auger motor and ran 12V direct the motor kick on. then I hooked the controller back up and it worked.

my question is how do I test the amp draw on the motor, snowex said it should be 14-17amps when empty

Ya. Do I leave the salter plug in and plus the volt meter on the battery?

Yes, leave everything connected and the big red clamp in the photo goes around the positive lead to the motor while it's running
