How to replace a Toro axle bearing

I have a 25 year old Toro 524 snowblower. It's giving me good service over all these years, but last season it started to fail in the low forward speed. This week I took a look and discovered that the rear axle bearing is worn away. That is, the two bolt casting that holds the bearing outter race is half gone.

I've got a new axle bearing on order, and I'm wondering if someone can give me a little guidance on the best way to get the old one out and the new one in.
