How much salt would this take ??

    I have 1 lot to salt that is about 10,000 sq. ft. I am going to use a push spreader and have no idea how many bags it will take to do this.

    4-50lb bags should be enough.

    Temps? Sun? Traffic? How thick is the ice? Hardpack? All make a difference. Figure anywhere from 200 to 1400lbs/acre.

    at 2l bs per 100 sqft min it would take 200 lbs it may take more if it colder or packed down. If the customer expects to see bare pavment everywhere i would use more, maybe 250-300. like the guy before said sunlight makes it work alot better.

    Look on the bag. It will tell you how many sq ft it can cover. Divide 10,000 by that number and you will know how many bags you will need.
