I use a curtis 10 CF tailgate spread. What are the formulas for how much salt to apply? Ive just been winging it so far and I think im in the ball park but I don't want to over do it. Also any other salting tips appreciated.

You'll get the feel for it, there are so many variables that it's hard to say a specific rate. You'll know if you put too much on because the next day the lot will be as white as snow, I like to error in too much then too little for liability reasons. I've been spreading salt for around 18 years and I'm still learning. Good luck
