98 dodge half ton reg Short box. The gravel pit has a 20.00 min. One yard cost 19.00. Would a half yard be way to much? Only about a 5 mile drive. I need the gravel for my driveway. Thanks

Just talked with my buddy. He said shoveling it out would be to big of a pain and that I need it delivered. I told him I need a really big jack. Lol

I load guys with half tons all the time up to 1 yard going short distances. Make sure the tires are good.

Are you sure a 1/2 yard will even fit in a short box?;)

We have no idea the weight of the gravel your getting.
    dry or wet.

Just watch it drop(your truck) as he dumps it in.
& they may let you come back for the rest.

tip, on that short box, his bucket could be over 6ft wide.
so drop your tailgate. and air up your tires.

2400 to 2900 for 1 yard gravel. Thanks for the tips

My bucket is 7 ft wide, I approach the rear of truck at an angle and dump from corner to corner. It works perfect and can do 2 yards of mulch that way using each corner.

How much gravel do you need? The min per yard is usually higher than if you buy more. Getting it delivered will probably pay for itself and not risk hurting your truck or others in the process.

What does your door tag say for payload? I don't think most those trucks are even rated to 2k in the bed.

Technically you're probably only good for 1/2 yard of crush-n-run.
