We are allowed to run studs in this state, and I am about to buy a set of tires "just for plowing". The man who owns the tire shop has plowed snow longer than I have been living (42) and he tells me that studs are a great asset for traction and safety.
I realize I will scratch a few driveways, but safety is more important. Especially in an ice storm like we had today!

For those of you who have run both on your trucks,

What say You?

MY Chevy 3500 DRW 4x4 has all six studded. I only use it for sanding. I've been on some real steep ice covered hills that I was real glad for studs. However, I think it doesn't handle as well at highway speeds. Not sure why.
