HI Yall
I got my son started in the Lawn care business 15 years ago, but after I retired last year, I took over the business from him. I am in central NC where we havent had a decent snow in a few years, but I think this year will be different. I just got a snow removal contract for a Blockbusters Video. I don't need a snow plow mounted on a truck like you guys have. I am thinking of using my 20hp diesel tractor with scrape blade. I have two scrape blades, but neither have a rubber mount. Where can I get the rubber to mount on the bottom of the scrape blade? The store is only .5mi from my home, so I can drive the tractor there. Also what is the best pretreatment salt (or chemical) to use to melt ice off the sidewalk and parking lot? I have a 95 chev diesel 4x4 that I could use if I could find a cheap scrape blade. Any advice will be appreciated.

Is your blade drilled with holes for the (rubber) edge? Probably not, if you're using a standard landscape scraper. Have you checked with your tractor supply dealer for an edge? If so and they can't help you, try any parts supply dealer, like Central Parts Warehouse (CPW) who has a banner ad on this site. As far as an ice/snow melter, first look on the banner ads here. Basically you'll want a "treated salt".
