Just wondering if the hitch mounted salt spreaders do any damage to your trucks. A lot of people have told me that the salt hits your truck. Is there any truth to this.

"Any" type spreader is going to get salt onto the back of your truck.
You can get a section of indoor outdoor carpet of heavy vinyl rug protector and build yourself a shield between your truck and the spreader, can be easily cleaned and desalted when you wash you truck.
    John...

i used a piece of conveyor belt about 18" wide by the length you need to go across the back of your truck.
