Does anyone know how to put a high idle kit on my chevy 1998 k2500 with a 5.7 v8? I have heard that you can wire a kit so that you can have high idle, then tap the gas or flip a switch and have normal idle.

Please help.

Go down to your friendly NAPA and get a cable kit. You can do it that old fashioned way, or you can go to www.awdirect.com and get an electronic high idle control. It is basically a toggle switch and a solenoid with a small "chain" on the end which attaches to your Throttle body. Flick the switch and the solenoid moves pulling the throttle open to the percentage that you have set it to.

Yes it does when you put in the high out put alternator. Also its good when sitting for a while at a construction site to charge the batteries, heat the car,air conditioning etc. Also for putting an air compressor on the truck you need higher output then the standard. Also if you want to get into a truck when its cold out it take shorter time when you have the high cap. radiator. Any more reasons????
