My buddy has a 97 1/2 ton chevy with a western unimount plow on it. He developed a problem plowing the other day. When lifting the plow in gear it will kill the truck. But when it is in neutral it won’t. Thoughts of what to go after to fix? He’s done normal things plow related like motor and cables.

In drive and idling or while moving in drive? Your idle speed will actually be a bit a lower when in gear. Low rpm and weak alternator could cause the plow to draw enough to kill the truck if voltage is dropping far enough. This is assuming it has a slush box.

Turned out to be a one year old Delphi fuel pump that was at bear minimum fuel pressure when tested. Replaced fuel pump and all seems good. Thanks for all your help and thought!!!
