Hey everyone I have been shoveling for awhile but now I have some money saved up and was wondering how well a boss v-plow would work on my 05 chevy 1500 ex cab. Most guys i see around here have f-250 or chevy 2500 so i was just wondering if my truck wouldnt have enough power to get the job done...any input would be greatly appreciated!:waving:

This is my 02 worth but I think you would be better off with a straight with wings. You need a larger truck for a V plow.

Thats a lot of weight for a 1/2T even with timbrens. A BOSS 8'2" Steel V weights close to 900lbs. with the mount. I'd recommend something like a 7'6" in steel or poly.

Power is not the issue. It is the weight of the plow and what your truck is rated to carry on the fron suspension. Like was mentioned, a 7 1/2' blade would be much better.
