    Hi guy's
    I am locking in to buying a truck. It is a 1997 ford f450 dump truck
    psd 4x4 5 speed. It has 70,000 mails on it in exec.cond. The guy is selling it for $17,000 what kind of plow do i buy for it & what kind of spreader?

    A 9' plow would be the smallest plow I would put on it. For a salter, depending on the length of the box you could put a 8' or 10' slide in V salter. IMO hydraulic is the best put they are expensive and to invest this in a 8 year old truck might not be worth it. My second choice would be gas. There are many good brands and your dealer support would influence your decision a lot.

    The guy I sub for has a similar truck. It's a '96 F450 (F-Superduty) w/ 110k miles. I only use it to do this one parking garage roof since my '04 Superduty is too tall to fit in. Anyway, that truck pushes really well. He has a Western 9' on it and it fits nice. I like using that truck even though it is pretty beatup. He's got an electric spreader on the back cause that's what fits in the parking garage but he's also got a nice v-box for it but I can't tell you how big it is. I know it handles the weight of the plow and the tailgate spreader like it's not even there.

    17,000k for the truck and another 4500 for the plow i would buy something new imo
