I have a 2002 Ford F-350 7.3 with the factory trailer tow package. The trailer plug has lost ist ground ( white wire) somehow.Where does this plug get its ground from, the negative side of the battery or on the frame somewheres. Thanks

From my wiring dia. it is on the drivers side frame rail, right near the spare tire area. Can either clean it up and reinstall with some spray protectant, or run a ground wire from the batt and attach directly to the frame after you clean up and spray protect the area. Hope this helps.

You can ground it anywhere. If there's no wire coming through the plug, the trailer hitch usually still grounds it. Is your harness on the trailer side grounded to the trailer?
