I am not a member because of crap articles like this
http://www.sima.org/resource/library/newsdetails/2016/02/18/get-a-jump-on-rust
Do people get paid to write these?
The article offers no help - wash ur stuff paint ur stuff lubricate it and store inside - really?? How about naming some products at the very least.
Rant almost over.
This is y I can't get behind joining sima
I understand this post will most likely be deleted bc it's on sima and free speech does not exist.
Ohhh... So that's how you do it? And to think I have been painting over salt covered dirty equipment this whole time. Maybe if I was a member of sima I would of known better
Big brother is going to shut you down for calling them out on the freedom of speech part. You can say whatever you want as long as it doesnt look negative on the sponsers
we can leave the thread here if you can handle having a decent, civil discussion about such a topic rather than turn it into a hateful, insult hurling assault Thumbs Up

I don't have an issue w sima we think about joining every year - I wish you would get better info from them is all. If I remember correctly you have to write articles or participate in ongoing education and this article seems to me that they(sima) accept anything to keep up the membership. writing an article is a nuisance to keep up a membership when you are trying to run a business. It seems a lot of the articles are published by guys that do the bare minimum to get the credit.

I got the same email and I'm not a member either.
I didn't give it mulch thought other than it's a filler article and "elementary" suggestions.
Why would someone like SIMA do product endorsements if not being paid for it, they are in business.

FYI,
SIMA is about education. Did you know there were those specific products out there to combat rust? Sure the company is selling its product, all of us do. I encourage you to keep an open mind. There is a lot to be learned, from SIMA and other trade organizations, and yes even Plowsite.
