I was at a stop light today in St. Cloud, MN when a woman ran right into the back of my truck. Thankfully I had a tailgate spreader on otherwise the damage would've been much worse.

My neck is very stiff and I ended up going to the ER just to make sure everything is okay. They took x-rays which came back negative. I was given a neck brace and sent on my way. I've had a headache ever since the accident so I hope that'll go away soon.

The spreader is all bent up and the spinner doesn't turn because it's jammed under the frame. It sucks because I just bought it from LwnmwrMan22 a couple weeks ago. I'll attach a couple pics...

glad to hear you are ok. Have you gone after her yet? I'd be all over her and her insurance company likes flies on ****. That sucks about the spreader, can you fix it or is it a loss?

someone hit my mother in one of my trucks last year it didnt look like a big deal my truck basicaly ran over the little nissan that didn't see my full size blazer beside him

anyway she complained of a headache for month after the accident and the doctor said whiplash headaches eventually went away after thearapy i believe atleast a month

Glad your ok...did you even see it coming? I leave my receiver in just for that reason, try to absorb as much impact on something else before my bumper and blast a hole thru someones hood/grill. As far as the spreader, what a bummer...will insurance cover it?

I got rear end at a stop sign during one of the recent snow storm. The roads were horrible and it was snowing very hard. The guy had a Nissan car and it was low so it went right under the rear bumper of my F-350. haha! My truck was fine. A minor scratch on the very bottom of the bumper but not even noticeable unless you got underneath. Nothing to worry about. His car though had a nice dent on the hood and smashed corner lights.

I guess there are 2 ways to look at it the spreader looks like it absorbed most of the impact but on the other hand your spreader is trash. I would demand a new one from the insurance company and any lost wages you come across without it. I pop our V box out after every storm sinply because stuff like this happens. The good thing is everyones ok. Metal can be replaced Good luck

I gave a buddy my truck last year, when he was hit by a vehicle that was side swiped in an intersection.

I finished @ 8 pm, he plowed till 4am.

Not really, I called my insurance company and they seem to be handling things pretty well. On Monday I'm supposed to meet up with the adjuster so we'll see how that goes.

No, I didn't see it coming at all. I was looking off to my right and all of a sudden BAM. I got out and looked at the damage and then called 911. The woman wanted to ****-chat about what happened but I told her I was too upset to talk. After the police left the scene I did tell the lady that I was happy she wasn't hurt and that I appreciated her honesty.

The spreader can be used for parts. Nothing is broken, just bent. The cover, hopper, motor and spinner are all intact.

I'm going to buy a new spreader tomorrow and pay for it myself. Then I'll ask the insurance company to reimburse me and that shouldn't be a problem.

For the first time in 15 years I am happy that it's not going to snow. I don't think I could sit in my truck and turn my head back and forth for 20 hours.

First off ,glad you're ok.

Secondly ,assuming she got sighted you can get a brand new spreader, lost wages, money for your medical bills ,and money for your injury.

So it makes no difference what you paid for the spreader they will have to replace it, go get a price on a new one and call the ins. company. On my wreck (Brutus) I had a toolbox beat up ,I got a price for a new one and they paid me no questions asked.
