Got it fixed (Boss 7.5 straight)

Discussion in 'Boss Plows Discussion' started by Avitare, Dec 12, 2007.

  1. One of the fittings on the top of the pump had a tapered seat that was cracked.
So my dealer replaced all 4 since we had things apart and all is better.

Also, We replaced the center pivot bolt which was well worn and I dont know why
I hadnt done this before for only $5. That took the rock out of the plow !!

Btw: my constant failures of overfilling the hyd fluid is explained by the dealer demonstrating
checking the level with the lift cylinder fully retracted. This can be done by letting
the tower roll forward -- but that would have put the reservoir fill hole at an angle.
So we just disconnected the lift cylinder and fully retracted it,
Then-- the fluid was 3/4in from the top of the hole.

I have been doing this with the plow connected and the cylinder extended (plow lowered).
Then puked fluid until it was down to the proper level.

Only took me 8 yrs to get this right.

Old quote, but I thought you are to lower the blade, on a level surface, to check the fluid level???? Any thoughts
