What you listed is the rear axle capacity. A F-250 should handle 8 ft plow with no problems.

We got a couple F-250 , an 05 and 06 with 9.2 Boss V-Plows, with timbrens on the front end, they handle them pretty well.

You shouldn't have a problem. If a chevy 2500 can handle a V plow, a ford sure can! Haha

Is this a normal axle weight restriction for a super duty f-250

you dont have the plow prep package. stiffer springs would help also a bigger alternator i think is all they add. most plow companies recommend you have the plow prep package.

Its funny how those ratings have changed over the years. OBS F350 Cab and Chassis with a 7.3 diesel has a lighter FAWR then newer F250s with gas motors. Brakes on the newer trucks are much improved as well. Yet most plow companies allowed 9ft plows and larger Vs on the older trucks where all sorts of restrictions are put on the newer models now.

What year is the truck? If it is a Super Duty than it does not have the "X" code springs which are the plow package. Put em in, you'll need them. 4k FGAWR is too low for a plow. If it is a OBS truck, then it isn't a diesel and you're going to want to add leafs or put in a D60 solid front end.
