Just read another thread where guys are buying FF in the US for about $6.25 a can. How is this possible? It's $15 ($17 with tax) a can here anywhere you go ... even Wallymart ... and this is with the CAD $ well above par for years now. FF needs to find a better, more fair/reasonable way to distribute this stuff in Canada. It's great stuff and all but there are plenty of comparable products for most uses for MUCH less so potential sales are being lost. Somebody in the FF distribution chain is literally stealing potential loyal customers and repeat sales from you folks at Eureka and deterring so many from even trying the product in the first place ... who in turn become those loyal customers and repeat sales.
Can you explain this price gouging going on here? tia

I agree, the price of Fluid Film seems to have shot up from$10-$11 in the last few years to around $15 a can. Traction had it on sale for $9 a while ago so I stocked up. I might just have to buy a bunch whenever I'm south of the border.

Its all documented in the hidden agendas of the US/Canada takeover conspiracy theory.

Your government needs more money to run the Socialist programs that you have so they are the ones raising the the price of FF!

Guys, I understand your frustration, but the price in the Canada market is higher in part because of the marketing costs absorbed by our Canadian Distributor. He has spent a small fortune promoting the product through trade shows and other channels in order to make it readily available through the major outlets.

In reality, the price for a can in the US should be between $8.50 - $9.50. Anyone selling it cheaper is lowballing it and lessening the value of the product.

Now that is a funny statement!
The value of the product shouldn't change based on the price....either it is good or not. 15$ a can is redicioulous....sounds like a 100 million advertising campaign.

I call it a bunch of crap if you'd ask me,,,when was the last time you saw a Fluid Film marketing piece in Canada?/..

The product will sell for what the market will pay...your distribution channel has added another layer between manufacturer and end user...thats the real reason its priced the way it is. period.

If it was more competitively priced and more readily avaiable in formats other than spray cans I would consider buying more of it vs other products we use..and so would others I'm sure.

I order the 5 gallon pails and have them shipped to a friend not far from the border in the states. They ship them for free, I cross over and pick them up, and scoot north with the goods. Save about $200 cdn on every pail. Thumbs Up

    I get them here.

30-40% of the cost is because of advertising??? Dano50 does that honestly sound reasonable to you? given that are dollar is on par it doesn't sound reasonable to me. Also because you have a distributor up here, I am assuming he gets a pretty big discount from you guys down there. That is were his profit margin should be at. He pays $4-5 a can, sells it for $10. It can't really cost that much more to move that product up here.

I would buy this product if the cost was lower, I have NEVER EVER seen advertising/marketing for this product in Canada anywhere other then on this site. I wanted to try the free sample but it is available in US only. The Canadian $ has been above US $ for a long time now! Yes shipping might be a bit more, but I would only pay up to $8.50 for a can, so get the canadian sellers up to date with the prices!

Wont that guy with all those tractors sell them to you?

I cant remember the last time I bought FF in Canada. I have a US address now, even easier to boycot the CDN dealer now.

Selling Fluid Film in canada is a licence to print money.

I totally agree, the cost is way to much and honestly I have never seen FF at a trade show in Canada. I put on a snow show 3 years ago and gave the Canadian distributor a chance to be at the show, they were not interested. How ever Krown heard about the show and called me to see if they could be there and they came. I have yet to see any ads about FF in Canada. A distributor gets deep discounts, so that they can set up dealers who in turn get a discount to sell the product. Seems like your distributor does not want to give up any of his percentage, so instead he jacks up the price and is making a killing, yet it is killing your market share in Canada. Dano we are doing you a huge favour here, I hope you can bring this back to the powers to be, and Canadians will be able to get a fairer price on your product. Till then FF is way out of my price range.

Guys, I do appreciate all your feedback and I understand your concerns, but this one is really just out of my hands. I have passed on the information and that is about all I can do.

I just bought 10 5 gallon pails in the US for $128/pail. The cost here is Around $250. A case of cans . I think I pay around $7.00/can but I have to buy quite a few cases to get those prices. Those prices also include shipping to a US address. I would pay 25% more to buy it here. I talked to the owner from Bobcaygeon at the Toronto Farm show about there pricing and he got very agitated as his dealers don't even come close to the price's I get in the US. He wanted to know where I bought it from as there not allowed to sell to Canadian's.

The funny part is it was the American dealers that started it. Rember back when we had a $.62 dollar. The Americans were coming here to buy trucks so the American dealers cried and GM wouldn't allow sales of new vehicles out of country.

I thought he was saying gm dealers are as slippery as fluid film
