Hey guys, I have a 2002 F-150 FX4, and have been looking for a plow just to do my driveway with. I found one locally, used, says it was bought in 05 with everything to hook up to my truck for 1600, I may be able to get it cheaper... is this a good deal? how do these plows handle the snow?

i just traded in my 2002 scab fx4 and i had a western suburbanite plow on it which is the same plow as the homesteader. that sounds to be about half of the original cost so thats not bad.............depends on the wear and tear. i had no problems plowing with that plow, worked great and put no undo weight on the front. dropped it maybe a half of an inch. hope this helps!!

I just did a install of as western suburbanite 7'4" on a 07 F-150. Its just goofy looking as the plow lights sit lower than the truck lights. :D

it does look goofy but your talking 6" or so...............and a third the weight of a regular plow. depends on your plowing needs. i was impressed with the plow when my uncle went into the hospital and i had to do six driveways for him to save customers. it worked really well for its size and weight. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL

One of our site supers has a 7' 4" on his v6 explore and during the first storm we had (was suppost to be a dusting which turned to 4") He ended up plowing like 12 acres of parking lot with it. Only problem he had was the chattering issues they sometimes have, but I fixed in in 5 mins by installing the lighter check valve spring. I plowed with it for an hour during that storm doing driveways after we where done. Its just super fast with the hydraulic cylinders being so small and using the same pump and valves as the pro plus use.
