When I bump the down on my joystick the blade goes all the way down instead of just a little. What could this be?

thats how it works. If you wont it to stop you have to hit up.

    Its called float mode.

Not always, on some our the westerns, it's a hold down to drop all the way. A quick tap wont make it go straight down.

Dont some units have the 1 touch down feature?

That's NOT how it works. If you hold it for a bit and release (I forget the time out, it's like 10 seconds), it'll activate float, a quick bump will NOT put it into float mode, atleast it's not suppose to.

Is this a 2 plug fleet flex plow or an older 3 plug...or an ancient 2 plug relay setup?

If it's an older plow it's most likely the controller, do you have a handheld or joystick controller?

If it’s a joystick like this then yes it will drop all the way unless you do what’s listed or tap it up.
Most handhelds will not drop all the way unless programmed to.

This is my first time using a plow. The plow was a family friends. My thought is if I accidentally leave the controller on and I bump the down switch while driving now the plow is dropping all the way while I’m going 45.

If you are worried about it, turn it off when driving, but just after a little use, you will be fine and not even think about it.
