I have always run Fisher. I bought a Jeep Wrangler from my brother last fall to do sidewalks with (@ schools) & was going to mod & put a 7'-6" V on (to the tune of over 5K). I came across a (or what I think was $ 250) a really good deal on a 6'-6" Meyer TM, with a poly moldboard. Was on a 2000 Jeep Wrangler I'm going to put it on a 1997, the only thing the guy didn't have is the lower frame work, he couldn't get it off when he traded his Jeep in, I believe that will run me about $ 500. I have the lift assembly (round recievers that slide into lower assembly), both wiring harnesses, pump, & controler, lights, etc. From what I can see I have 1 light that is loose, the deflector looks like it needs to be longer, the cutting edge is good, angle cylinders are questionable (chrome is pitted & rusted) & I am planing on installing small rubber blocks at each end that stick out a couple inches for curb running.
I realize I'm not comparing apples to apples (Fisher V to Meyer straght blade) but I need it to be as productive as possible, with minimal breakdowns. For the cost savings, monies are tight due to extrodinay growth, I couldn't pass this up. Any tricks or tips in these plows ?
