Fan switch dying out

    2 of our trucks, a 2004 1/2 ton and a 2005 3/4 ton. The fan switch( dial with 1 through 5) on the half ton only works on 2 through 5 and the 3/4 works on 3 to 5. Both started doing this within a couple of days. Any ideas. I am guessing this is a common problem.

    It is a common problem. In fact if you search "blower resistor" here you'll find plenty of reading on it.

    You can get a "generic" one from NAPA and with minimal modding can make it work for 1/3 the price, mine has lasted 3 years since burning out 2 OE ones
