F350 mount. Be the same as f 550. . Western ultra mount

    As title says. Is the 2001 f 350 mount the same as f550 for a western ultra mount.

    As long the 550 is 99-04 also it sure is. :salute:

    An '04 early model to be exact. Ford did another one of those great "Mid Year" changes so there are 2 different brackets in 2004. Other than that you are correct.

    It depends on the plow. If you are running the same plow, then it will be fine. If you plan on running a 10 foot blade or something larger than you did before (because the F550 is capable of it) then no, a different mount is needed. I ran into this issue when I was thinking of puting a mount from an 06' F350 onto an '06 F550 and upgrading the blade to a 10'. No dice, had to buy a new mount with the 10 foot blade.

    That part he should know from a previous conversation. But certainly nothing wrong with mentioning it for others.

    Fairly common knowledge that there's no HW's on an Ultra. HW's still use the Uni to this day.
