Extreme V Wear Shoes

I am looking for ideas - I plow a large unpaved crushed stone surface area with my new 8.5 foot Extreme V. I just had the dealer install the Optional Wear Shoe kit.
To my surprise the shoes cannot be adjusted to keep the cutting edge off the road surface. I contacted another Fisher dealer who confirmed the shoes are installed correctly and that until the cutting edge wears the show will not be in contact with the road surface.
Does anyone have a work around for this problem?

Make extendd shoes.. weld somestuff on the bottom of them.. maybe even a whole mushroom on mushroom... or you could make the shaft longer.. I would scab something on it myself..
