I have a western 7 1/2ft STD weight ultra mount plow, it seems to trip rather easily can I add a 3rd spring? I have checked the 2 that r on there & they seem to b fine, not loose or slacked. Thanks

the springs are supposed to be just tight enough so that a piece of paper fits in. thats a start, i have heard of trip springs being bad if this is a newer plow

If you put too much spring tension you risk breaking your center pivot bolt. Consider replacing the two that are there before you add another, they may just be too weak.

Thanks guys, it's an older unit so I'll try replacing both of the old springs.
