I am installing a Smith spreader and was looking at a couple of options for the wiring.

I am trying to decide on keep it simple or add some features. I have the Series 2 spreader which is 1 electric motor and 1 speed.

Option 1 Traditional Solenoid or Trombetta Bear DC Contactor ( I have read a lot of good things about these bear contactors)

Option 2 Reversing Solenoid like http://www.texasindustrialelectric.com/relays_24452.asp

Option 3 Variable speed wireless motor controller from
http://www.snowplowsplus.com/contents/en-us/d449.html this looks very similar to the Meyers wireless spreader remote. Might be interesting since I am limited to one motor with my model the variable speed may not provide as much value. I was also thinking about using a wireless switch combined with option 1 above as an alternative.

The right answer is probably to keep it simple, but I am curious if anyone has had success with the wireless remotes or if I would ever have a need for reversing with the electric conveyor spreader. This is my first year with this spreader. In the past I have had gas and the SHPE 2000 electric. We do a lot of sand that is usually wet so I am hopeful this will be a good mix of conveyor performance and ease of electric.

Thanks for any advice or experience.
