E-Brake Light

Discussion in 'Chevy Trucks' started by misanthrope, Nov 12, 2004.

  1. Is there a ground wire or sensor that would cause the brake light to stay on?
Had the rear brakes done and it still stay's on.
    Any ideas?

On a '90, there are two ways the light can come on.

    1) There is a switch on the parking brake pedal, near the firewall.

    2) Low fluid pressure switch in the proportioning valve on the front crossmember.

Grounding the wire (I think its a tan colour) will make the light come on. If they visually check out, unplug each one at a time and see if the light goes out. You may have a bad switch or something.

This is assuming you have proper brake pressure, of course. ;)
