Do any of you run with dual alternators? I have a '02 F20SD PS so it already has two batteries, but after 12 hrs of plowing at night the lights and plow pump motor are dim and slow. Local Ford shop quoted me about $750 for a second alternator and bracket. Has anyone put a second one in or have rigged someting else up.

Ford has a dual alternator option, but also a H.O. alternator option. Me I would go for something like this, http://www.highoutputalternator.com/ and do it myself.

From what I have read you can't add the dual Alternators to a single truck because the pcm is not programed to control the second one.
