    I'm installing a Boss 9ft, RT3..

Can i run the basic old solenoid used on meyer plows, or the old ford solenoid, or do i have to buy the Boss solenoid..

It doesn't have to a boss solenoid but it should be one that is heavy duty enough for a plow. I don't think the ford ones are. I used a boss one in my western when the dealer was out of western ones. Now I carry a spare one with incase.

I replaced mine w/ a heavy duty Napa solenoid about 3 years ago...so far so good.
