The truck i just bought has straight 5-inch exhaust from the turbo back, sounds awesome but my buddy said it would hurt the truck? i dont think it will but im not for sure. It's 06 duramax (LLY), I really like the truck and i want to keep it for awhile so i want to make sure its right, thanks for any help

I won't hurt a thing, but the environment. My 07 is straight piped, no DPF , cat or muffler. Got to www.dieselplace.com and do some reading.
