I have the old style Meyer lights from 98'. they rotted to hell so I bought a new set locally and the plug is different... It looks the same but has one less pin hole (5 instead of the 6 truck/jeep side). how does this set use one less wire? ir really sucks, main reason I bought these was to be able to just mount and plug them in, I really dont want to rewire the damn thing...

The 6 pin light's had 2 ground wires in the plug, one for the head lights and one for the turn signals.. the 5 pin style used 1 ground for all the lights in the light housing...

Your 6 pin is the old style lights. and the ones you bought are the next newer version of them....

The six pin lights have been discontinued for a while now.....

yeah, this is a pain... I am in the process of swapping the old harnesses into the new housings to avoid messing with the wiring. Now I am discovering that there are issues in the original wiring (the whole damn jeep has wiring problems to begin with) and being a jeep everything is so tucked in I have no idea what is what...

I am about to throw some daylighters I have onto the plow bracket and say to hell with the turn signals

that is the wire colors on my plow lights that look like the same style you have in the pic
my lights are meyer truck lights
I might have the black and yellow backwards but it works on my 82 chevy and my jeep has the same light plug that is on my 89 wrangler for the main head lights
