So nobody else might be considering buying an older truck with that setup and would like feedback from owners?? What exactly qualifies a threat to be irrelevant??

A decade of time since the OP's question was answered would be a good start for qualifiers to make a thread obsolete.

I do agree the thread is old. But not for nothing. I still have my plow and it did in fact out last my buddies three new plows since 2010 and I have owned mine since 1992 when it was on my 85 K10 which in fact outlasted my K10. Albeit I do take care of it. Wash, painting and maint.

Your comparing Apple's to oranges here, so there really is no comparison period.

And sone of the nicest repairs done on plow I have ever seen. Machine work and welds......very nice

I found a weak link on my Diamond MDII mount. I hit a pole hidden in a snow bank in a blizzard. it must have torn a bit then, and worked it's way out the rest of the week.

Jacked it back up into place and welded the **** out of it. Never another problem.

I am looking through some old posts with regards to Diamond snowplows. After reading your response it reminded me of my 97’ Diamond. I just got into this forum and I am picking guys’ brains in both the Fisher and Diamond plows of today. Do you still use one? I know this thread is from 06

Is your Diamond the newer setup where the headgear is part of the plow side?
I’m looking at Diamond and Fisher now. After reading a few threads I’m just asking owners what they are using now and what the pros and cons are.

Very good assessment, exactly what I was looking for. Your post is from 09, do you still plow, and if yes what do you use?

Two of those guys haven't been here since 2016, the third since 2011. Don't get your hopes up for a reply.

I see you started a new thread anyway. I am not going to get into Fisher vs Diamond as I am super old school. Look at my posts and projects here and you will see.

I wonder if his plow from '86 is your current plow now? That plow could have made it's way from NH to CT in 35 years. We should ask if he has any old photos of it...

Nope. I got the plow off of a mid 70's(I forget the year) K5 blazer with a 6.2 Diesel. It was at the dealership I used to work at. I got it back in 1994.

To 19 F250 in NH. I see you viewed my project MM1 to Diamond Project. There is a short cut to this that requires no fab work if you get the HD Fisher upright. This will allow the diamond A frame ears to line up to the Fisher Upright tabs with no work whatsoever. I have my eye on a HD upright and already have another diamond A frame.
