I have always been told that on a Boss V plow you can run the cutting edges all the way down as long as you do not start to wear the mow board. Is this true.

I think that's true with any brand.
Just have the next one ready and don't start a huge storm on bought time with an old one.

Cutting edges are cheap compared to the cost of a new mold board. I don't know why anyone would run them down to far. I would replace mine at about the 1/2 way mark, and keep the old ones as back up just in case.
