i need to have a rotor cut on my 85 k-30 one ton and i was wondering if it is possible to cut it without having to go through the trouble of removing the hub and other parts. would save me an awful lot of time and patience.

Yes you can have the rotor machined on the truck. You need to find a shop that has an on the truck lathe, but then you will be having them do your brake work. Remember that when you do pull the rotor you will have the chance to clean; inspect and repack the wheel bearings and service the hubs too.
