I have Western MVP. I changed fluid and it still does this.
When U go to the scoop position, for the last few inches, it will make a grinding/ crunching sound, and from that point the rams slowly finish extending with somewhat of a vibration in motion. It will sometimes do it when reaching other positions. But, not all the time.
    What could it be.
Could the pump need more oil as in this function, it needs the most to fill the rams? Is the oil possibly giving signs of freezing up? It moves left, right.up & down fine.
    I dunno?
The plow is about a 2004

Sounds like it is low on fluid to me.
    Is the oil foaming/milky?
Does the sound of the pump change (higher speed or squeal) when this happens?
These would both would indicate low oil level.
    Good luck
