Have a SS pro caster sander with gas motor. notice that the clutch does not engage every so often. Last storm thought it wasn't catching do to being oily, sprayed it down with break clean and it was good. No today it happened three times. Wonder if anyone has ever had this issue and what to do.

Does it have any adjustments on it?

Are you getting power and ground when you activate the switch?

yes I had it happen a few times where it was spinning. I shut it off. Then went to restart and had nothing... couple of times got out and hand turned it. And a few time flicked switch a few times and it would start working..

Belt is tight on it and by ooing at it I know it’s not slipping.

You have to check the wires at the clutch (when it's not working) to confirm you are getting power there, and confirm the ground is good

If you have power and ground, and its not magnetizing, the clutch is bad

Otherwise, you'll have to work backwards, checking the connections at the clutch itself, back to the 11 pin (or 7 pin) plug, then back to the switch itself in the box

It is magnetizing I wi have to check the wires. I think I hear a humming at the times that it wasn’t spinning.. hard to te while motor is running
