Does anyone have a source for carbide cutting edges for an 8'6" MVP plus plow? I am not a big fan of buying cutting edges all the time. Currently running the heavy 1/2" blades and the truck that it is on does alot of pavement scraping. The township that I live in uses carbide insert edges and they get 5 to 6 times the life as regular hardened blades.

You get the edges too hard and they get brittle and will chip. I think Angelos sells carbide edge guards to help extend the cutting edge life.

We run a edge/curb guard on the Danials, not sure what it is made of but it helps prolong the life a little bit.

Talk with a local steel supplier, have them cut you some 3/4" or 1/2" hardened pieces big enough to catch the last two bolts on your cutting edge, they'll be able to punch the holes in also - I did that once when Jim didn't have curb guards same thing and actually cheaper. I forget what they called the steel, something like armor....
