If you can grab it with vice grips and pull as you turn the plug.

Are you sure socket is IN spark plug?

We have that problem with our 01 F250 5.4L in 2 rears on passengers. It turn out we need hammer socket to fit spark plug. We was panic if it was striped but it was fine.

I would bet that the plug has rust on it and you are not actually on the plug. Happens a lot

guarantee it's just rust...happened to me on my bro's 01 5.3 chevy...ended up hitting it with a smaller size socket and it worked like a charm....snug fit though but stopped the spinning i was getting....all rusted out
